Deep Energie Presents Guest Mix By Gabbana Da Deejay (South Africa)-Cutz#7

1. Can we have a little introduction of who you are and what you do ?
I go by the name Shepperd Mogano also known as Gabbana Da Deejay, I am a full time Deep House / Deeptech Producer / Dj based in South Africa ,Mpumalanga in a Smalll Suburban Village called Vaalbank .

2. Where did this all begin for you ?
It all started when i was in Secondary School (Grade 8) that's when I got my first personal computer which I used mostly for gaming and FL Studio 3 was just one of the few games I played . I can't admit I never knew what I was doing at that time ,but it got me this far .

3.Where do you draw inspiration ?
I receive Facebook inboxes everyday on how good my music is and that's what always keeps me going , people have a big influence on my music .

4. Which place will forever be memorable that you played at /
I have played at lots of of clubs , music lounges , parties and etc , but the one place that will forever be memorable to me has to be Alementa Club in Belfast , I played alongside a friend of mine by the name Dub Sole and i had to deliver the closing set , I played most of my unreleased songs and brought the whole place down .

5. Whats Your Favourite production instrument ?

I have always had the love for the Rhodes  MK II until i got deep into things and tried more instrumentals . I am now a big fan of Analogue Synthesizers more especially the Vintage Yamaha CS-80V , I am always synthesizing my own sounds .

6. How do you stay relevant in the market that produces new Dj's and producers almost everyday ?
I always struggle to bring out something new , something different from what people have already tasted .I have always said innovation is better that creation .

7. Which Album or Song made you realize that this music thing is for you ?
I don't really have a favourite song/ album since i am always listening to music , although i still play Jimpster's remix of seventh wave , I don't know why but there is something about the song that always makes me want to move .

Deep Energie Presents Guestmix Kat la Kat (South-Africa)-Deep Energie Cutz#6

1. Can we have a little introduction of who you are and what you do?
Kat La Kat Dj, Electronic Dance Music Producer, Audio Engineer, guy next door with an unusual music obsession.

2. When did this all begin for you?
I think I wouldn't be far off if I said it started when I was born. My earliest memories are of music, as for what I play now started in 96' collecting tapes of underground house music and compiling similar tracks putting themes to my tapes, naturally eventually grew into spinning wax in my bedroom for quite a long time giving out mix tapes until and gathering confidence to go out and play all over from the reaction I got with the mixtapes around 03', 04'{see why I still like doing mix tapes so much}

3. Where do you draw inspiration?
I draw my attention from anything and everything. Mostly from my mood and that’s why my sets and music are always different. I try to very unpredictable content wise while being very predictable style and quality wise.

4. Which place will forever be memorable that you played at?
There are just too many really good gigs I’ve had but even though I play there a lot, Mamelodi is always a pleasure.

5. What's your favourite production instrument?
My Brain plus some rewired software

6. How do you stay relevant in a market that produces new Dj’s and producers almost everyday?
I do me and what feels good to me and not what the scene or industry is dictating so no matter which direction it goes those who are like minded will always relate. Most aren't 'new' anyway, majority are just altered copies of existing guys in the market already.

7. Which album or song made you realize that this music things is for you?
That's probably a question I will never be able to answer because my journey to where I am now was a very slow progression it did not happen overnight so I can't really credit a single song or album for that.

Deep Energie Presents Guestmix Will Tension (Germany)-Deep Energie Cutz#5

Born in 1988 in Leipzig (Germany), William Gebert alias 'Tension' was interested in nearly every style of music. He defines his roots as Hip Hop and Metal, but he was always fascinated by the electronic Sounds of Kraftwerk, Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, etc. Inspired by these artists it didn't last log until he bought his first records and played the first club gigs and parties. Driven by the minimal sound of the millennium years, he soon dropped his own productions into his sets. After some time of gathering experience in clubs and productions, he created epic and melodic tracks. Soon he developed his remarkable style, focused on Deep House beats and Dub Techno meditations, which one can hear in his own productions and live sets. As 'Cycles' he lives his second passion, Drum & Bass and Dubstep music. Since 2010 he's djing and producing broken beats and bass tracks under this alias.

Interview with Will Tension

1. Can we have a little introduction of who you are and what you do:
Hi, my name is William Gebert. I'm a producer and Dj from Bielefeld (Germany).
Basically I focus on Deep House and Dub Techno productions which I prefer to play in Live and Dj-Sets in Clubs and on Festivals. Two Years ago, I got a little more into Liquid Drum & Bass and Deep Dubstep, which I also produce under my alias 'Cycles'.

2. Who's the biggest influence in you music career:
I would say just my life and its experiences, because I put a lot of personal feelings, emotions and thoughts into my music.

3. Who's your favourite Dj/Producer of all time:
There are several musicians and artists I really appreciate, such as Fred P. from New York (My number one inspiration in Deep House!), Ron Trent, Shed or even Carl Craig. Just to name a few.

4. What's your favourite production instrument:
If you can call it an instrument I would say Ableton Live, because of its massive versatility. You can use it in every style of music and in nearly every situation it gives you the possibility to put your creativity in place. Beside this, it might be the Guitar.

5. What's the biggest capacity crowd that you have played for?
I played a live set at a festival here in Germany two years ago together with a friend. I estimate that there were nearly 1500 people dancing to our music. Really impressive!

6. How many vinyl records do you own?
I just began to collect records three years ago and I only buy the ones I really like and only the ones that I will still like in twenty years, so my collection is not that big at the moment. I think it might be about 200 records only, but its growing!

7. What's your worst Dj Experience?
A very funny moment happened when I played in a local club some years ago. I played some cd's, the crowd was dancing energetic, everything was perfect. I had my headphones on, listening to both channels and I made the transition. I was so focused on the music in my headphones (yes, and not that sober...), that I didn't realized that I just took out the cd the crowd was actually listening to. There was only silence in the room while I just turned around with my headphones on and looked for a new track, until my friend told me what I did. Everyone in club was looking at me, wondering what I do there. It was so embarassing but also very funnny indeed.
