Deep Energie Team got a brief interview with young talented deejay Jazzman(Germany)

Can we have a little introduction of who you are and what you do?

My real name is René Wolski and I coming from Bielefeld (Germany) and my stage name is Jazzman. I started to mix my own sets at the age of 18 years. In the beginning I played more House Music. Then over the years I fell more and more in love with Deep House. The biggest inspiration to play this type of music was definitely "Deeper Shades of House". Lars Behrenroth had his first shows on a German Radio Channel and this was really a big inspiration. The Mixes from Larry Heard aka Mr. Fingers was a big inspiration too. From this moment I checked out more and more Deep House artists and labels. 

When did this all begin for you?

Every week I mixed new sets and gave them some of my friends. But there weren’t many people who liked my mixes. So I started to build my own Internet Site and posted the mixes there. The first podcast was together with "Kowski" from Freiburg Germany and called DeepandTribalHouse (dth-house). From this moment everything growth. I got my first Guestmix @ my favourite show "Deeper Shades of House" and I got more and more fans from all over the world. Especially many people from South Africa wrote me messages about my mixes. That motivated me a lot to do it further.

Can you tell us more about your show?

In the beginning of 2009 I started my own radio show called "The Deep Inspiration Show". In this show I present every week all the music that I love. The show is available every week available as a podcast, download and on air @ www.motionfm.com. I playing there a lot of nice guestmixes from other Dj’s that I like. The most of the guestmixes are friends, but sometimes I play sets from international known artists too.

Which place will forever be memorable that you played at?
Last year in 2012 I was in South Africa for the first time. It was unbelievable how many people know me there. So many people wanted to talk to me and have a picture. That was really something new, because in Germany there not many people who know me. Every place where I played in South Africa was my best experience. The best party there was "The Warm up" in Joburg. The location was very nice and the people were so friendly. So many people understood my selection of music there. I can't wait to come back this year in August!

I'm Ilias Katelanos from Greece and I started  up at the end of 90’s, I have been a True House and Electronic Music Pioneer , having countless hours of studio productions and live gigs, all around Greece and Europe ,working with some of the finest artists in the globe. I worked all over the club scene with people like TL Brown Jr, Roberto Rodriguez, Nick Warren, Jody Wisteroff, Ocean Gaya, Alvaro Hylander ,Addex ,Berny etc. I made remixes for Terry Lee Brown Jr , Jon Silva ,Addex, Evren Ulusoy,Deep Spelle ,Tonkproject ,Berny,Ricky Inch 

When did this all begin for you?
About 1997,I started producing and writing music, as well with live Dj gigs in Greece and Europe 

Where do you draw inspiration?
I draw my inspiration from everyday life, plus a lot of this comes from my travels around the world

Which place will forever be memorable that you played at?

The best show in my life was in Santorin Island in Greece, Deep House Festival, having the chance to play in an amazing location with all my friends and favourite producers and Dj’s, also had some great time playing in Budapest -Hungary, Zagreb -Croatia   and London-UK

What's your favourite production instrument?
My favourite instrument is my Keyboard and my Guitar, along with my Synths and Logic 9

How do u stay relevant in a market that produces new Dj’s and Producers almost everyday?
There’s so much new music coming up everyday . But still is not that easy to find good tracks. That happens to any genre from Deep to Techno

Which album or song made you realize that this music thing is for you?
The old Detroit sounds of House and Techno are my turning point in music life

About Julian Gomes
Julian Gomes grew up listening to soul, latin and kwaito before discovering house music at the tender age of eight. Since his first gig in 2003, his career has traveled only upward, and his love for production and skill-set grew steadily with it. Alongside cousin, Michael G, he began the G.Family collective which released a slwe of succesful release on the local and international labels.

In 2010 he stepped off the shores of his home continent to participate at the Red Bull Music Academy, which took place in London. He has since then been invited to play at several high profile local festivals and, in 2011, was invited to play a dream slot at Sonar Festival 2011 in Barcelona - one of the most highly regarded music festivals in the world.

Last year Julian also picked up his 1st SAMA Nomination when G.Family's Albun 'Break the Silence' Deep House Chronicles Vol 6. was nominated for Best Dance Album. In the same year Julian Gomes released his solo debut single 'Love Song 28' (ft Bobby) as well as his second single colloboration with Atjazz 'Ovweshadowed'. 2012 also saw Julian Gomes remixing Artists like Black Coffee, The Layabouts & British Soul legend Omar.

Now rolling with UK Veteran and influential industry Stalwart Atjazz and his record label, Julian is on an eternal quest to widen his musical horizons with shufled claps and electronic soul.

Artist of the Week: Martin Stimming (Hamburg)

Few people bring a truly original sound to house music. At a relatively young age, Hamburg’s Martin Stimming did just that, demonstrating a sophisticated yet accessible sound that’s beyond his years.

Two years after hooking up with Solomun’s Diynamic Music, his 2008 breakthrough hit Una Pena made the electronic world sit up and take notice, and before long acclaimed labels like Freerange, liebe*detail, Buzzin’ Fly, Green and Poker Flat were snapping up his work. 2009 saw him release his immaculate debut album Reflections to great acclaim, cementing his reputation as one of the most exciting new producers of his generation. His second album, Liquorice, eschews the normal kick-clap/snare template by and large to explore more interesting and progressive territories, but always with that trademark magpie-like sense of texture, emotion and discovery. His productions are filled with a multitude of his own unique, charismatic field recordings, and he never uses the same sample more than once.2010 saw him pick up an award for Best Newcomer at the Ibiza DJ Awards, following on from his live show (Stimming doesn’t DJ) stunning the crowds at the island’s legendary Pacha, and the finest danceries around the world – from Berlin’s Panoramabar to Sao Paulo’s D-Edge, Brussels’ Fuse, London’s fabric and Paris’ Rex, and plenty more beyond. Remixes for the likes of Sascha Funke, Claude VonStroke, Marc Romboy & Stephan Bodzin and Robert Babicz to name but a few have further spread his influence amongst the discerning house and tech community, and cemented his reputation as one of the scene’s most exceptional producers.

Clearly, Martin Stimming is a precious talent indeed. But then again, not everyone loves liquorice…
